View this page in 中文

With the booming Chinese economy, Chinese enterprises are gradually “going out”, looking for expansion in the international market. Europe remains an extremely important market to set up a business. The uniquely strategic geographical location, the favourable tax regime, the excellent business environment and its EU-harmonized legislation rightly make Cyprus the golden gateway to Europe for Chinese investors.

As explained by Stavros Ioannou, Managing Director of Grant Thornton Cyprus, “the importance of China as a global economic powerhouse is growing and, at the current rate of increase, it will soon overcome the US as the world’s biggest economy. There are tremendous opportunities for Cypriot businesses looking to source or export to China or to seek investors. Similarly, as outbound investment by Chinese companies is growing, we need to put Cyprus on their map for international tax planning. The formation of the dedicated China desk is a sign of our commitment and confidence in the future of these bilateral relations”.

In order to aid decision making process related to investing in Cyprus, we present the business guide: Cyprus: the Golden Gateway to the new silk road, which covers most important issues regarding tax and legal system that may influence investor’s business plan. We expect this guide will help you to understand he investment climate, operating conditions, and tax system in Cyprus.
